Project Description
The purpose of the study is to provide updated hydrologic analysis, an alternatives assessment, and development of a preliminary design.
An outfall plan will be developed for the area downstream of Hwy-2 to a suitable outfall, the hydrology will be updated for the entire watershed to the latest version of CUHP and EPASWM
Project Area
The limits of the study are roughly bound on the west by the South Platte River, on the north by 88th Ave and the east by Hwy-2 and the south by 80th Ave. Click here for a Map of the Irondale Gulch Study limits.
The project area, downstream of Hwy-2 is roughly 0.5 square mile watershed area up, to Hwy-2 is 17 sqare miles.
Project Goals
- Update entire watershed hydrology to the latest version of CUHP and EPASWMM with the most recent existing and future land use
- Restore the lost volume in the Upper Derby Lake at other areas idetified as feasible detention
- Identify existing flooding and drainage problems within the study area, downstream of Hwy-2.
- Obtain input from the public, stakeholders, and the project sponsors to develop feasible drainage solutions.
- Pinpoint the needed stormwater conveyance, detention, stream stability, and stormwater quality improvement measures.
- Prepare a Hydrology Report (comparing the new flows to the recently published 2003 flows) develop an Alternatives Evaluation report and a Conceptual Preliminary Design report.
